GenAI improves content tags (context)

May 27, 2025

We still tag like it’s 2012.

LLMs are evolving. Crawlers are everywhere.
But the tagging layer hasn’t caught up.

Scrape a podcast, newsletter, or journal, and you still get the same metadata: drug names, company names, disease terms.
It tells you what was mentioned.
Not what was meant.

If a physician talks about switching therapies due to safety concerns, tagging both drugs misses the point.
What matters is the reason.
The sentiment.
The signal.

“Therapy migration due to tolerability”
“Clinician perception shift”
“Emerging preference for newer mechanism”

The models can already detect this.
We just haven’t designed for it.

From a data standpoint, we often work with anonymized, scraped content to build insight layers.
But unless the tags reflect intent, that insight gets lost downstream.

Less tagging. More understanding.
